Canvas was developed by Instructure. It is IU’s Learning Management System (LMS). It contains open source standard stools and commercial management systems (assignments, discussions, announcements, quizzes, syllabus, etc.) with tools and features for communication, collaboration, assessment, real-time web conferencing, a multimedia recorder, a Google Docs integration, outcomes and rubric, and course analytics (eLearning & Design Services, 2016).
